Snapshots From A Mom: Series Two

It’s Monday, Good morning! I awoke to a rainy and cold day today.  Although the weather outside is uninviting, here in the studio it is sunny and bright and always inviting.  I invite you to grab a cup of coffee, read my post and enjoy the morning.  Because it's raining, cold and cloudy, I want to share a bright cheery and fun photo of my son at bath time!  Bath photos are a little tricky to take for me anyway because my intention is to give my baby a bath and not make it a photo shoot. However, when you see something as cute and fun loving as a baby in a bath, it just need to be captured and preserved for posterity.  As I yelled to my husband to "quick get me the camera", I knew this was a photo op that I did not want to miss!  Thanks to the quick response of my sweet husband, we did not miss it and here is one photo I love. Have a great day wherever you are and may the sun shines down on you today!
If you haven't heard the news, I am open for business on Etsy.com.  Head on over to my shop at

Snapshots From A Mom: Series One

Now that I have some blog posts under my belt; I am going to post a series each week called “Snapshots From A Mom”.  I love photography and capturing a moment in time is thrilling to me.  Gone are the days of “f stops” and “dark room” developing of my prints.  I take snapshots of fleeting moments in my life mostly of my children because they are all consuming and have been since the day I gave birth to my first-born.  I have said in the past, they are my inspiration in all that I do and this holds true for my photography.  The subject matter will be mostly my children as seen in this post.  I will introduce my old photograph portfolio once it is retrieved from storage. My equipment for this project is an old Cannon Power Shot S2 IS and my smart phone. This is really a study of finding sparks of creativity I did not know were there when I was taking the pictures.  Looking back at the snapshots of my boys, I see a trend emerge.  I frame my images before I shoot them. I love tight-cropped photos.  I seem to catch expressions or an interesting juxtaposition of the subject to their surroundings. Come back Monday for the continuation of my series.

 Thanks for stopping by,

I heart cupcakes from GWIC

I love cupcakes… it’s my sweet tooth talking.  I can’t resist a great tasting cupcake, so when I heard that Got What It Cakes was going to offer a cupcake sampler of their confectionery creations, I was all over that idea.  I was on a mission…a secret mission to pick up those coveted cupcakes, time and place to be determined later.  Finally, the instructions were given for the pick-up and just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.  I drove to the address that was posted and showed up at the door where I was greeted by the warm smiling face of none other than Mandie! She handed me a lovely box of confectionery goodness. It was a pleasure meeting such a creative and talented woman. She makes the most adorable and delicious cakes and cupcakes.  My favorite has got to be the chocolate coffee cupcake as seen below. Yummy!!! Don't forget to check her out on facebook to see when her next cupcake sampler will be going out.  Happy tasting!!

                                                                   Mission complete!

Part Two: Designing My Wedding Invitation

In honor of my eighth Wedding Anniversary I wanted to share my first wedding design project with you. When I got engaged I knew that my invitations had to be designed by me and they had to be handmade. My focus was on the paper selection; a tri-fold invitation, handmade paper insert and an overlay of vellum paper was my final choice. I assembled and printed one hundred & ten invitation. I used my EPSON Inkjet 1280 Stylist Photo printer, to print all the invitations and then added a rubber stamp detail on the front cover.  The invitations had to reflect an elegance and warmth we wanted share with our guest. My mom by default turned out to be a great wedding planner. She helped facilitate the many details of the wedding that I could not have done myself. Living out of the state where we were having the wedding had its challenges. Luckily my mom came to the rescue and planned a fabulous wedding. Even though it was eight year ago today that we got married I feel there is a timeless elegance to our wedding. Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband!

Need Some Luck? Don't Forget To Wear Green on St. Patrick's Day!

St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner and in the spirit of  “Luck O' The Irish” I designed some fun gift tag labels and stickers. “Lucky You” and “Cheers” labels are hot off the design assembly line just for your viewing. There is one gift wine bottle label, three blank gift tags and three gift tags with the phrases: Luck O' The Irish, Happy St. Pat's and Lucky You.  The circle gift tags can be interchangeable as stickers, gift tags or cupcake toppers.

Take a sneak peek.

Part One: Sharing Our Wedding Memories With You...

It’s been awhile since my last post, which was not my intention. I have been diligently designing in the studio until the wee hours of the night and preparing for the launch of my shop on Etsy.com. I want to share a personal story with you, a love story to be exact. This week my husband and I will be celebrating our Bronze Wedding Anniversary! Eight years, wow, I can’t believe it’s been that long. I was looking back at our wedding photos and it warmed my heart to see two people so in love. In honor of our anniversary, I wanted to share a couple of our wedding photos with you. I am so fortunate to have such a wonderful partner to share my life with. As I reflected on our life together as a married couple, I was humbled by the fact that throughout our eight years together our love has not faltered. I am truly blessed to have a loving husband, an outstanding father to my boys and a great friend. May we have many more years of wedded bless!
