Feature and Giveaway - Celebrate Love A Valentine

Happy New Year! Sorry for the silence but I am back and off to a fresh start. So, let’s begin with a GIVEAWAY! It’s my Celebrate Love party printable package! There is so much to celebrate for me in the first few months of the year. For starters my birthday, Valentine’s Day, my husband’s birthday and our anniversary. Therefore, it’s only fitting that I designed my new printable party package around celebrating, more specific celebrating love. Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love and those we love so why not have a party in honor of our loves in our lives! Here is how I celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Let’s Celebrate Love Valentine’s party...
It all starts with an invitation to set the mood of your party. I wanted my design to have a traditional, modern and whimsical theme.
Hearts symbolize love and are traditionally used to depict Valentines Day. When I was designing the invitation I wanted to marry, if you will, the traditional and modern together with a whimsical twist. Once the invitation was set I moved on to the other elements of the party decor keeping it consistent throughout the design. I chose a traditional typeface to express the words of LOVE yet played on a modern feel with the striped heart design. I added a little playfulness by choosing a handwritten font for the Happy Valentine’s Day wording in the design.

The fun thing about having a party at home is that you can dress it up anyway you like. I added some unexpected elements like the napkins with a pop of purple to add interest. And,  I added some pink glitter to the edges of the table cards to jazz them up a bit.

So the icing on the cupcake, so to speak, has to be the toppers. They are fun, playful and sweet to look at until you take a bite out of the delicious home baked strawberry cupcakes.
Yummy!

What would Valentine’s Day be without a little chocolate!  In keeping with the theme, I wrapped the candy bars in a coordinating wrapper design.

More eye candy...
I hope you enjoyed my Celebrate Love Valentine’s party!

DIY: Table Centerpiece - Decor For The Holidays

During the holiday season, I love to add a little something special to our dining room table. This season I wanted to add a D.I.Y. centerpiece. My inspiration for this project was my son's obsession with sticks. Yes, I said STICKS! He has been collecting sticks for awhile now and a few pine cones a long the way. He insists on bring every stick he finds home and we have compiled quite a collection. So, I asked him if I could use some of his sticks for a project I wanted create. He said, "YES". Hooray, now I could finally put those sticks we've been collecting to good use! Off I went to create something special for our table. What do you think? Cute, right...

Here is how I created the centerpiece.
D.I.Y. TABLE DECOR CENTERPIECE
Supplies you will need for this centerpiece craft project:
Pine cones
Sticks
Glitter spray paint
Clear Sealer spray
Glue gun
twine
Empty paper towel roll
Wrapping paper
Double sided tape
Scissors

GATHER YOUR SUPPLIES FOR THIS PROJECT.
SPRAY PAINT STICKS AND PINE CONES WITH GLITTER SPRAY PAINT. AFTER DRYING, SPRAY CLEAR SEALER TO PROTECT THE PINE CONES AND STICKS.
WHILE THE STICKS AND PINE CONES ARE DRYING - CUT PAPER ROLL DOWN THE CENTER.
WRAP THE ROLL IN PRETTY PAPER. I USED A BLACK AND WHITE DAMASK PATTERN WARPING PAPER. TAPE THE PAPER ON THE INSIDE OF THE ROLL.
ASSEMBLE THE STICKS BY HOT GLUING TOGETHER AND WRAPPING THE TWINE AROUND THE STICKS AT THE  INTERSECTING POINTS.
ASSEMBLE THE PINE CONES TO THE WRAPPED PAPER TOWEL ROLL BY HOT GLUING IN PLACE. THREAD THE RIBBON AROUND THE ROLL AND TIE A BOW.
VOILA! A HAND CRAFTED CENTERPIECE FOR YOUR DINING ROOM TABLE.
Thank you all for a great FIRST year! It has been amazing so far. I am looking forward to next year and I know it will be even better!
Happy Holidays and have a great NEW YEAR!!
